Session 1: Nogoodnik Former Acquaintances

Someone who shall remain a nameless ex-gangster had people come looking for him. People with higher firepower guns.

So Squishy had to blow their car up to not get shot. Good old alien instant fuel conversion.

Plus he who was a bad men committed some biffo by bodily dragging one hoodlum out of the car. Lucky for him. Everybody else managed to not get shot.

He gets sent on his way as a warning that if they want something in future, ask politely, not with automatic gunfire.

Session 2: Mad Scientist Alien Brain Blasting From Beyond

Summoned by the First Psychic’s AI self and asked to look into the theft of fusion power sources from Kuilan industries. She has attendant science geeks.
The first

Squishy, with great effort, investigates and determines that her memories are degrading.

They confer.

Still go and investigate.

Delayed by cops outside thanks to Squishy being fishy. Cops impressed by both his friendship with Lieutenant Chen, their boss, and Suiri’s ex-cop mojo.

Going with the cops they start investigating blown out walls and the place.
Kuilan industries

Dr petrovFind a bunch of research projects…involved with trying to reverse engineer alien tech. The scientist looking at it is a leading expert. Doctor Petrov.

Unfortunately after brief discussion, he goes crazy. Something starts mind blasting people (occasionally, it is nicer to be shot at!). Much brain zapping of people by what turns out to be an amorphous alien warp energy. The good old zap it with a stray power cable fortuitously discovered trick seems to be quite effective, when teamed with super psychic acupuncture.

Session 3: Ghostbusting at Changi Hospital

Documents discovered at Kuilan Industries lead Squishy to realise that humans up to 150 years ago had been working on warp gate technology. Big warp gate technology. He studied these thoroughly.

Pet food shipments were involved.

Old soldier ghosts were fought at Changi Hospital.

Session 4: Firefight at Old Changi Hospital
Ghosts and Water Dragons

Continuing on from the last session, Sam decides to scope out the place via feeling it out, causing the forces that were looking at him from beyond to pull his soul from his body! As soon as Sam leaves his body, the party finds themselves under attack by ghostly soldiers!
Anton dodges like the wind, breaks out the large water dragon to draw fire, it works, causing many bullets to fly into the shield that Squishy set up in front of Anton!
Suuri sneaks up behind the enemies, notes that there are hostages, then starts throwing enemy combatants through windows.
The cops were called, the hostages saved, and the party continues deeper into the hospital…

Session 5: Malonde's mean beam machine

Hospital corridorDeeper in the Hospital, the party discovers a pipe at the bottom of a broken staircase, and decides to investigate. Suuri, being the human spider that he is, gets a means of entry to the pipe.

Following along, the party discovers the cause of the unusual deliveries: Malonde, one of the two first generation psychics, has built himself a portal to the Warp! Noticing the intruders, he quickly attempts to cave in the cavern, but not before Anton speeds past, blasting the water pipes under the Machine’s base!!

Squishy spends some time (briefly) working out how this dangerous portal works so he can take control of it and shut it down or use it offensively. However, using it as a weapon to shoot Malonde and the amount of water around caused overheating of the machine. It was time to get the hell out before it blew up, taking the hospital with it.

Suuri gets thrown across the room, dislocating his shoulder, knocking him out.

The machine

Anton puts a little too much into an attack, causing more water to flood the room at double the rate! With Suuri on the floor, the party rush to disable Malonde before their friend drowns!

Before Anton can do any more damage, Malonde shoves Anton into the wall, then decides to attempt to take out Squishy and Sam before Anton causes any more trouble.

Sam does some string pulling (Mental strings of light, mind), and stacks the free tags on Malonde, while Squishy attempts to disable the machine before it can breakdown any further, or worse!

Sam lets it all out and takes out Malonde’s mind in one attack (11 stress in one hit, it was crazy), leaving Malonde brain’s open to the warp in more ways than one!
The party then scrambles to get away from the Hospital before the portal machine explodes, and the Hospital is left in a pile of rubble.

Good work team!

Session 6: Black Lotus Explosion
The Gene Killer investigation begins

While Sam and Suiri deal with keeping Malonde under wraps at Firestarters HQ, Anton and Squishy take a trip to the Changi Hospital site to go through the debris to see if there was anything of interest or danger (or both) left around.

Arriving, there was the same police presence with the addition of a Chief Inspector. To Squishy’s consternation a bunch of Hway cultists (as everyone could tell by big Evil Cultist Tentacle Logo) where also starting to look at the area, trying to intimidate others to stay away. With help from the CI and their political connections. Squishy, with Chen’s help and the fact that opposing people who just saved the city from destruction, have a powerful boss and would be happy to mention any CIs-In-The-Way in the media got a police escort to check out the debris first. With Anton helping to run interference he hobbled out of their with some evidence in the form of a goodly chunk of the power converter device.

Not pleased cultists converged and Squishy and Anton beat a R.A.T.T. retreat back to Firestarters.

Anton gets a visit from David Chen from the police, asking for help with the escalating disappearance of psychics in a low-rent but tasty fast food plentiful part of the city. Firestarters agrees to do what they do, quid pro quo.

The plan involves brilliant implementation and implantation of a versatile tracking device in an op-shop hipster disguised Anton. Limping fishmen don’t make believable hipster bate (and would also rather sit around drinking caffeinated tomato juice less painfully, with broken ribs).

A local doctor strikes up an acquaintance with Anton, clearly recognising him as not an average individual psychically. Anton manages to attract the attention of half a dozen hapless, hopeless and unlucky muggers. Beating up a few the Doctor literally fries another couple with lightning powers. He offers Anton a job, presumably believing the out of town angle if not the loser hipster one. Anton-Bait agrees to take the job, getting a crash course in dodgy Singapore aphrodisiac assembly. He accepts the offer to stay the night as both he and Squishy are too linguistically challenged to recognise what the Chinese writing about Black Lotus means.

A smoky Black Lotus drugging attempt follows, Anton managing to retain most of his Bait-Wits as he is taken to a Lotus Den with some unforunates, some cultists and a woman who is presumably a priestes type leader.

Anton violently disagrees when he suspects her of mind-monkeying manipulation beyond silver tongued seduction when she puts a hand on his neck. He violently disagrees with their new approach and goes to introduce the room to the state of Mortally Challenged.

Lotus den

Fanatic Cultists transform into monstrous type warriors and along with two armed security guards leaves Anton seriously outnumbered and dispatching some while asking for assistance. Squishy has handily prepared an explosive surprise which takens down the den with a boom, killing the monster fanatics, but leaving one security guy alive, to be tied up and interrogated later. They dive into R.A.T.T. and fishtail it out of there, tyres squealing.

Session 7: Daredevil chases and non-shippers are suspicious

The discovery of a survivor of the Gene Killer thanks to a minor psionic talent. His friend was not so lucky.

The further discovery of a private space shipping company known as Signus Enterprises that doesn’t. Or doesn’t seem to be for the general public. None of Squishy’s Escape Goat contacts have ever had anything shipped by them either.

A plot is hatched to see if anyone can actually get them to send something…e.g. cases of expensive mutant tomatoes…as the shipping company smells culty.

Session 8: The Gene Killer...Live on Video!

A lack of Firestarters manpower led to an investigation session with a new to Firestarters member.

A double-tech teamup to observe what was going on around the scene of the death of or poor Russian-American survivor who now wasn’t.

Suspicious characters with mobiles that needed bugging lead to another mystery woman and a band of minions up to no good and out for blood. And blood sacrifice and ritual.

Fighting against fascination for cults they both decided that discretion is the better part of valour when the odds are 2 to several + one superpowered shadowy psychopath.

Squishy and Krate survive the spying mission unscathed, with evidence upload to HQ for analysis, video and audio.

Session 9: Shipping company bugs me, live on Prime Time Television

A street scene unfolds of corporate thugs pushing around the locals. Who do happen do make good food, too. The Firestarters take a dim view of this, even moreso when they realise it is everybody’s least favourite space shipping company involved.

A quick plan is hatched to bug the car of the boss with Suiri pulling a classic Hustle manoeuvre and Sam doing an Insane Clown one-man posse dance.

That working nicely they get audio evidence on record of admission of kidnapping ‘psychic freaks’ so they decide to tail the cars.

Ending up at the spaceport with Suiri on lookout keeping them out of trouble the rest assist Sam with sensing what is going on in this convoy. A few dozen kidnap victims, it is discovered. The possible long, long trip terror they are facing convinces Sam he is going to get his action hero on.

Not enough to fight four guards though apparently as he and Krate leave Suiri and Squishy to fight while they go for a rescue raid with lesser opposition.

A sensible option as it turns out, as Batman wouldn’t have been too critical of Suiri’s deft handling of four bad men having the lights turned on and then quickly out. Leaving Squishy time to go all reality tv, getting enough of a story to interest J4 and streaming the goings on back to the network live.

Session 10: Save the Children. Be nice to dogs. Point Lovecraftian entities back at their summoners.

Everybody had joined up again after dealing with a bunch of guards.

The old take the guard uniforms and weapons ploy was decided on…at least for anyone that was from Earth. Squishy meanwhile hacked into the audio communications to try and find out what might be going on, while the rest made a foray to a guard tower. Whereupon a bioborgdog doberman patrol needed to be put to flight as cruelty to animals is bad for your image on national television. Luckily Sam can do this sort of thing with no whacking of dogs necessary. He manages to make the dobermans run away like Pomeranians and some more subterfuge is planned.

It is dodgy Anton tells stories to guards time. Throw in a bit of cash and he and Sam manage to convince the weakest link that yes, this is the shady drug deal they were looking for and a casual drive through to where the container full of stasis pod children is.
